Historically, jute production in Bangladesh reached an all time high of 1,751,635 tonnes in 2020 and an all time low of 711,000 tonnes in 1999. When compared to Bangladesh's main peers, jute production in Bhutan amounted to 343 tonnes, 14,600 tonnes in China, 1,757,160 tonnes in India and 10.1 tonnes in Myanmar in 2022.
