Historically, number of international tourist departures in Japan reached an all time high of 20.1 mil in 2019 and an all time low of 3.17 mil in 2020. When compared to Japan's main peers, number of international tourist departures in China amounted to 20.3 mil, 12.4 mil in Russia, 4.28 mil in South Korea and 60.5 mil in USA in 2020.
