Historically, expenditure of international tourism in Japan reached an all time high of USD 48,175 mil in 2004 and an all time low of USD 23,252 mil in 2015. When compared to Japan's main peers, expenditure of international tourism in China amounted to USD 277,345 mil, USD 38,791 mil in Russia, USD 38,022 mil in South Korea and USD 172,549 mil in USA in 2018.
Japan has been ranked 11th within the group of 158 countries we follow in terms of expenditure of international tourism, 6 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
