Historically, expenditure of international tourism in Maldives reached an all time high of USD 365 mil in 2017 and an all time low of USD 41.0 mil in 1995. When compared to Maldives's main peers, expenditure of international tourism in India amounted to USD 21,856 mil, USD 10,945 mil in Indonesia, USD 24,543 mil in Singapore and USD 2,409 mil in Sri Lanka in 2017.
Maldives has been ranked 110th within the group of 145 countries we follow in terms of expenditure of international tourism, 18 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
