Historically, expenditure of international tourism in Iceland reached an all time high of USD 1,336 mil in 2007 and an all time low of USD 282 mil in 1995. When compared to Iceland's main peers, expenditure of international tourism in Denmark amounted to USD 9,159 mil, USD 16,384 mil in Norway, USD 14,899 mil in Sweden and USD 87,754 mil in United Kingdom in 2016.
Iceland has been ranked 74th within the group of 160 countries we follow in terms of expenditure of international tourism, 13 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
