Historically, expenditure of international tourism in Costa Rica reached an all time high of USD 1,330 mil in 2019 and an all time low of USD 336 mil in 1995. When compared to Costa Rica's main peers, expenditure of international tourism in Guatemala amounted to USD 1,128 mil, USD 655 mil in Honduras, USD 312 mil in Nicaragua and USD 1,623 mil in Panama in 2019.
