Historically, expenditure of international tourism in Laos reached an all time high of USD 1,054 mil in 2014 and an all time low of USD 4.10 mil in 2001. When compared to Laos's main peers, expenditure of international tourism in Cambodia amounted to USD 762 mil, USD 250,112 mil in China, USD 11,267 mil in Thailand and USD 4,500 mil in Vietnam in 2016.
Laos has been ranked 87th within the group of 160 countries we follow in terms of expenditure of international tourism, 70 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
