Historically, expenditure of international tourism in Panama reached an all time high of USD 1,272 mil in 2015 and an all time low of USD 181 mil in 1995. When compared to Panama's main peers, expenditure of international tourism in Colombia amounted to USD 4,825 mil, USD 1,040 mil in Costa Rica, USD 482 mil in Honduras and USD 310 mil in Nicaragua in 2016.
Panama has been ranked 77th within the group of 160 countries we follow in terms of expenditure of international tourism, 18 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
