Historically, expenditure of international tourism in Panama reached an all time high of USD 1,272 mil in 2015 and an all time low of USD 181 mil in 1995. When compared to Panama's main peers, expenditure of international tourism in Colombia amounted to USD 5,136 mil, USD 1,129 mil in Costa Rica, USD 517 mil in Honduras and USD 364 mil in Nicaragua in 2017.
Panama has been ranked 79th within the group of 145 countries we follow in terms of expenditure of international tourism, 15 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
