Insurance and financial services as a percentage of service imports from the balance of payment fell 17.6% to 7.14% in Zimbabwe in 2023, according to the National Central Bank / OECD.

Historically, insurance and financial services as a percentage of service imports from the balance of payment in Zimbabwe reached an all time high of 12.4% in 2019 and an all time low of 2.16% in 1985. When compared to Zimbabwe's main peers, insurance and financial services as a percentage of service imports from the balance of payment in Botswana amounted to 2.63%, 7.82% in Mozambique, 4.34% in South Africa and 11.5% in Zambia in 2023.
