Historically, home ownership as a percentage of all dwellings in Iceland reached an all time high of 86.8% in 2005 and an all time low of 70.3% in 1960. When compared to Iceland's main peers, home ownership as a percentage of all dwellings in Denmark amounted to 59.2%, 80.8% in Norway, 64.9% in Sweden and 65.2% in United Kingdom in 2021.
