Historically, gross school enrollment of females in tertiary education in Portugal reached an all time high of 74.5% in 2011 and an all time low of 6.18% in 1971. When compared to Portugal's main peers, gross school enrollment of females in tertiary education in France amounted to 76.2%, 80.7% in Ireland, 39.1% in Morocco and 102% in Spain in 2019.
Portugal has been ranked 45th within the group of 112 countries we follow in terms of gross school enrollment of females in tertiary education, 14 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
