Historically, geothermal capacity as a share of worldwide geothermal power capacity in Russia reached an all time high of 0.816% in 2005 and an all time low of 0.163% in 1995. When compared to Russia's main peers, geothermal capacity as a share of worldwide geothermal power capacity in China amounted to 0.199%, 0.284% in Germany, 3.96% in Japan and 27.7% in USA in 2016.
