Historically, fruit consumption per capita in El Salvador reached an all time high of 26.9 kg in 2008 and an all time low of 10.8 kg in 2014. When compared to El Salvador's main peers, fruit consumption per capita in Costa Rica amounted to 31.2 kg, 20.0 kg in Guatemala, 16.1 kg in Honduras and 3.06 kg in Nicaragua in 2017.
