Historically, fruit consumption per capita in India reached an all time high of 27.5 kg in 2014 and an all time low of 14.4 kg in 1988. When compared to India's main peers, fruit consumption per capita in Bangladesh amounted to 18.0 kg, 39.5 kg in China, 9.11 kg in Pakistan and 6.58 kg in Sri Lanka in 2017.
India has been ranked 43rd within the group of 154 countries we follow in terms of fruit consumption per capita, 36 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
