Fruit consumption per capita rose 1.48% to 27.3 kg in India in 2017, according to Faostat.

Historically, fruit consumption per capita in India reached an all time high of 27.5 kg in 2014 and an all time low of 14.4 kg in 1988. When compared to India's main peers, fruit consumption per capita in Bangladesh amounted to 18.0 kg, 39.5 kg in China, 9.11 kg in Pakistan and 6.58 kg in Sri Lanka in 2017.
