Historically, foreign debt in Malawi reached an all time high of USD 3,604 bil in 2023 and an all time low of USD 135 bil in 1970. When compared to Malawi's main peers, foreign debt in Mozambique amounted to USD 66,848 bil, USD 165,787 bil in South Africa, USD 34,598 bil in Tanzania and USD 29,029 bil in Zambia in 2023.
