Historically, foreign debt in Burkina Faso reached an all time high of USD 12,771 bil in 2017 and an all time low of USD 20.0 bil in 1972. When compared to Burkina Faso's main peers, foreign debt in Ghana amounted to USD 43,742 bil, USD 36,548 bil in Ivory Coast, USD 6,457 bil in Mali and USD 5,613 bil in Niger in 2023.
