Historically, foreign debt in Togo reached an all time high of USD 3,495 bil in 2021 and an all time low of USD 39.8 bil in 1970. When compared to Togo's main peers, foreign debt in Benin amounted to USD 12,483 bil, USD 10,397 bil in Burkina Faso, USD 43,742 bil in Ghana and USD 102,482 bil in Nigeria in 2023.
