Historically, foreign debt in Somalia reached an all time high of USD 5,374 bil in 2019 and an all time low of USD 73.2 bil in 1970. When compared to Somalia's main peers, foreign debt in Djibouti amounted to USD 3,429 bil, USD 33,290 bil in Ethiopia, USD 42,910 bil in Kenya and USD 7,283 bil in Yemen in 2023.
