Foreign debt fell 0.600% to USD 102,482 bil in Nigeria in 2023, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, foreign debt in Nigeria reached an all time high of USD 103,100 bil in 2022 and an all time low of USD 837 bil in 1970. When compared to Nigeria's main peers, foreign debt in Benin amounted to USD 12,483 bil, USD 15,332 bil in Cameroon, USD 3,214 bil in Chad and USD 5,613 bil in Niger in 2023.
