Energy use in kg of oil equivalent per usd 1,000 of GDP rose 10.6% to 99.6 kg in Laos in 2022, according to World Bank / EIA.

Historically, energy use in kg of oil equivalent per usd 1,000 of GDP in Laos reached an all time high of 109 kg in 2017 and an all time low of 72.3 kg in 2014. When compared to Laos's main peers, energy use in kg of oil equivalent per usd 1,000 of GDP in Cambodia amounted to 77.7 kg, 125 kg in China, 89.5 kg in Thailand and 78.8 kg in Vietnam in 2022.
