Historically, electricity production from wind power in the European Union reached an all time high of 362,267 GWh in 2017 and an all time low of 0 GWh in 1976. When compared to European Union's main peers, electricity production from wind power in China amounted to 286,081 GWh, 5,737 GWh in Japan, 139 GWh in Russia and 256,823 GWh in USA in 2017.
