Historically, crude death rate per 1,000 people in Afghanistan reached an all time high of 32.0 deaths in 1984 and an all time low of 5.80 deaths in 2023. When compared to Afghanistan's main peers, crude death rate per 1,000 people in Iran amounted to 5.16 deaths, 6.74 deaths in Pakistan, 6.21 deaths in Tajikistan and 7.83 deaths in Turkmenistan in 2024.
