Crude death rate per 1,000 people fell 1.96% to 11.6 deaths in Nigeria in 2024, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, crude death rate per 1,000 people in Nigeria reached an all time high of 26.2 deaths in 1960 and an all time low of 11.6 deaths in 2024. When compared to Nigeria's main peers, crude death rate per 1,000 people in Benin amounted to 8.82 deaths, 10.2 deaths in Cameroon, 12.4 deaths in Chad and 9.22 deaths in Niger in 2024.
