Crude birth rate per 1,000 people rose 11.2% to 36.6 births in Nigeria in 2024, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, crude birth rate per 1,000 people in Nigeria reached an all time high of 49.3 births in 1978 and an all time low of 33.0 births in 2023. When compared to Nigeria's main peers, crude birth rate per 1,000 people in Benin amounted to 31.3 births, 32.0 births in Cameroon, 40.4 births in Chad and 46.4 births in Niger in 2024.
