Historically, cottonseed production in Benin reached an all time high of 500 kt in 2018 and an all time low of 1.90 kt in 1961. When compared to Benin's main peers, cottonseed production in Burkina Faso amounted to 360 kt, 3.25 kt in Niger, 115 kt in Nigeria and 61.2 kt in Togo in 2021.
