Coal consumption as a share of worldwide consumption rose 1.89% to 0.089% in the European Union in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, coal consumption as a share of worldwide consumption in the European Union reached an all time high of 0.324% in 1980 and an all time low of 0.087% in 2014.
