Historically, cereal production in Nigeria reached an all time high of 30,209 kt in 2008 and an all time low of 5,809 kt in 1972. When compared to Nigeria's main peers, cereal production in Benin amounted to 1,652 kt, 3,100 kt in Cameroon, 2,711 kt in Chad and 4,590 kt in Niger in 2015.
