Bank Mandiri's non-performing loans reached 8.82% of total loans at the end of 2019, down from 9.19% compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 25.3% in 2005 and an all time low of 3.15% in 2009.
Provision coverage amounted to 36.7% at the end of 2019, down from 41.4% compared to a year earlier.
The bank created loan loss provisions worth of 0.834% of average loans in 2019. That's compared to 1.72% of loans the bank put aside to its cost on average in the last five years.
