Historically, alcoholic beverage consumption per capita in Iceland reached an all time high of 5.34 litres in 1991 and an all time low of 0.950 litres in 2020. When compared to Iceland's main peers, alcoholic beverage consumption per capita in Denmark amounted to 5.55 litres, 2.17 litres in Norway, 7.78 litres in Sweden and 1.47 litres in United Kingdom in 2021.
