Historically, alcoholic beverage consumption per capita in New Zealand reached an all time high of 3.94 litres in 2012 and an all time low of 0.580 litres in 2020. When compared to New Zealand's main peers, alcoholic beverage consumption per capita in Australia amounted to 5.53 litres, 0.120 litres in Indonesia, 0.270 litres in Malaysia and 7.47 litres in Philippines in 2021.
